Product Specification

Ziziphus jujube is a deciduous shrub or small tree, 1 to 3m high, with straight and curved thorns on its branches. The leaves are alternate, oblong to lanceolate, 2 to 3.5cm long, 6 to 12mm wide, with blunt apex, finely serrated edges, and three veins at the base. The flowers are yellow-green, often clustered with 2 to 3 in the leaf axils; the calyx, petals and stamens are all in number of 5; the ovary is superior, 2-chambered, buried in the flower disk, and the stigma is 2-lobed. The drupe is small, oblong or nearly round, dark red, sour in taste, and the ends of the stone are often blunt. The flowering period is from April to May, and the fruiting period is in September. Born on sunny or dry hillsides, plains, and roadsides. Mainly produced in Hebei, Shaanxi, Henan and Liaoning.
